About me / Bio:

Asad Abbas was a Pakistani singer who rose to fame after winning the first season of Pakistan Sangeet Icon, a singing reality TV show, in 2008. He also participated in Coke Studio season 6, where he performed the song Mahi Gal with Sajjad Ali and QB. He was also a former member of the Mekaal Hasan Band, a sufi rock band, and released an album called Yadaan in 2018. He sang many popular songs, such as Kadi Aa Mil Sanwal Yaar Ve, which was featured in the TV series Raqs-e-Bismil, Lori Sunawan Aa Asghar, and Ya Ali Apko Mana Jay. He belonged to a family of musicians and his brother Ali Abbas is also a folk and contemporary artist. He received a Lux Award and a Pride of Pakistan Award for his work. He died of kidney failure on 15 August 2023 in Lahore at the age of 38. He had been suffering from the disease for seven years and had spent a lot of money on his treatment. He was laid to rest in his hometown.
