Blaz Arnich

Blaž Arnič was a renowned Slovenian symphonic composer, known for his significant contributions to the 20th-century symphonic repertoire. Born in an isolated farmstead near Mount Raduha, he was self-taught in music during his early years. His passion for music led him to study at the Ljubljana Conservatory and later across Europe. Despite facing political persecution and personal hardships, including imprisonment and partial blindness, Arnič's resilience and dedication to music remained unwavering. His works, deeply rooted in the native Slovenian landscape and folklore, reflect a neo-romantic realism style. He is celebrated for his nine symphonies and other compositions that continue to inspire and resonate with audiences.
