Ragna Wettergreen

Ragna Wettergreen was a Norwegian actress who debuted at Christiania Theatre in 1886. She performed at several theaters, mainly at Nationaltheatret, where she was one of the main forces from 1899 to 1934. She played several title roles or principal characters in plays by Henrik Ibsen, such as Lady Inger of Ostrat, Hedda Gabler, The Vikings at Helgeland, Rosmersholm, John Gabriel Borkman, Little Eyolf, and The Wild Duck. She also participated in films, first in 1912, in the Danish film Historien om en moder. She retired from the stage around 1940, but returned in 1952 in her old role as the grandmother in Eventyret. She received a state artist salary from 1949. She died in 1958 at the age of 93.
