Bob Christo

Bob Christo was an Australian-Indian civil engineer and actor who became famous for playing villainous roles in Hindi films. He started his career with Sanjay Khan's Abdullah (1980) and went on to act in over 200 films in the 1980s and 1990s, including Qurbani (1980), Kaalia (1981), Nastik (1983), Mard (1985), Mr India (1987), Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993) and Gumraah (1993). He was known for his brawny physique, bald-headed look, and deep voice. He often played roles as a foreign henchman, army general, or smuggler. He also appeared in films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. He shared the screen with many legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Mithun Chakraborty, Anil Kapoor, and Sridevi. He also worked as an official director of health and fitness at Sanjay Khan's resort in Bangalore. He was interested in yoga and meditation and wrote an autobiography titled Flashback: My Life and Times in Bollywood and Beyond. He died of cardiac rupture in Bangalore on 20 March 2011 at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife Nargis and four children. He was a popular and versatile actor who brought the stereotypical foreign goon to life on screen.
