About me / Bio:
Pote Sarasin was a Thai politician, diplomat, and lawyer, serving as the 9th Prime Minister of Thailand from September 1957 to January 1958. Born into the influential Sarasin family on March 25, 1905, in Bangkok, he pursued law studies in the United Kingdom and was called to the bar at Middle Temple in London. His political career was marked by his service as Foreign Minister from 1949 to 1950, and as Thailand's ambassador to the United States. Pote played a pivotal role during the transitional period following the military coup led by Sarit Thanarat, and later served as the first Secretary General of the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO) from 1957 until 1963. He passed away on September 28, 2000, at the age of 95.
