Akram Osman

Akram Osman was an esteemed Afghan short-story writer, novelist, and intellectual. Born in Herat, Afghanistan, he pursued a PhD in political science from the University of Tehran. Osman's contributions to Afghan literature were significant, with notable works such as "Our Street" and "When the Reeds Bloom." He served in various capacities, including as head of the Art and Literature Department at Radio Afghanistan and president of Afghanistan's Writers Association. His diplomatic roles included Afghan Consul General in Dushanbe and Chargé d’affaires in Tehran. After moving to Sweden, he continued his literary pursuits and was recognized with a medal of honorary recognition by the Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for his contributions.
