Tommy Seebach

Tommy Seebach was a Danish singer and musician who was one of the most popular and influential artists in Denmark. He started his career as a member of the rock band Sir Henry and his Butlers in the 1960s, where he wrote many of their hits. He later pursued a solo career and also formed other bands such as Los Valentinos and Seebach Band. He wrote and performed songs in various genres, such as pop, rock, disco, and schlager. He was known for his distinctive voice, catchy melodies, and humorous lyrics. He also appeared in several films and TV shows, such as Fængslende feriedage and Købmanden. He competed eight times in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix and won three times. He represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest three times, with the songs Disco Tango, Krøller eller ej, and Under stjernerne på himlen. He became internationally famous when his instrumental song Apache was used as the theme song for the TV show Verstehen Sie Spaß?. He struggled with alcoholism for many years and died of a heart attack at the age of 53. He was widely mourned by the Danish public and his fans, and his songs are still played and celebrated today. ²
