Thomas Adesanya Ige Grillo

Thomas Adesanya Ige Grillo was a Nigerian anatomist and professor who made significant contributions to the field of endocrinology and medical education. He was the first professor of anatomy in Nigeria and the founding dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Obafemi Awolowo University. He also served as the principal of the College of Medicine in Sierra Leone and a fellow of Churchill College, Cambridge. He published several books and articles on the evolution of the pancreatic islet and was a member of various scientific and professional associations. He was awarded the French-O'Carroll Medal by the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and was a chieftain of Ilesha. He died in 1998 at the age of 71.
