Ossy Chinedu Prestige

Ossy Chinedu Prestige was a Nigerian businessman and politician who served in the 8th House of Representatives. He was a member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and represented Aba North-Aba South Federal Constituency of Abia State from 2015 to 2021. He died on February 6, 2021, in Germany, at the age of 56, after a protracted illness. Prestige had a B.Sc degree in Government and Public Administration from the Abia State University, an MBA in Shipping and Logistics from the Lloyds Maritime Academy London, and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration from Commonwealth University in Belize. He was a seasoned customs broker, maritime services provider, shipping consultant and importer of diverse merchandise. He was also a leader of various professional and social associations, such as the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, and the Rotary International. As a legislator, Prestige was known for his outspokenness and advocacy for the welfare of his constituents. He initiated and executed several projects in his constituency, such as the distribution of vehicles, motorcycles, generators, and other empowerment items. He also sponsored bills and motions on various issues affecting the nation, such as electoral reforms, security, education, and health. Prestige was a devoted Christian and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. He was married and had five children. He was also a sports enthusiast and a member of the Aba Sports Club. He was widely respected and loved by his people for his humility, generosity, and integrity.
