About me / Bio:
Chris Mba was a veteran Nigerian pop musician who was popular in the 1980s and 1990s. He was known for his songs that blended pop music with local instruments and African rhythms. Some of his hit songs include "Baby Don't Cry", "Funky Situation", "We Need Each Other" and "Love Everlasting". He was signed to Premier Music, a leading record label in Nigeria. He was also a member of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) and the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON). He performed at various events and concerts, including a tribute for the late reggae legend Ras Kimono in 2018. He suffered from heart issues for a long time and died on May 3, 2023 at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. He was mourned by his family, friends, fans and colleagues in the music industry. He was described as a bundle of talent, a great musician and a staunch member of COSON. He left behind a legacy of songs that will continue to entertain and inspire generations of music lovers.
