Abdul Hafeez Mirza

Abdul Hafeez Mirza was a Pakistani tourism worker and educationist who worked for various tourism development corporations and agencies in Pakistan. He was also a professor of French language and an author of several books on French language and tourism. He was involved in the policy-making for tourism in Pakistan and was awarded by the Government of France with the Ordre des Palmes Academiques award in 2015 for his services in the fields of education and culture. He was born in Lahore in 1939 and received his education from Government College University, Lahore, and various universities in Europe. He taught French at various institutions in Lahore from 1964 to 1974. He then shifted his career to the travel and tourism industry and established a travel and tour operating company, Montana Travel Service limited, in 1976. He dealt with European and Sikh tourist groups in Pakistan and also completed an advanced course on Economy and Politics of International Tourism from the University of Paris-Sorbonne in 1992. He died in Lahore in 2021.
