Majid Jahangir was a Pakistani comic actor who was best known for his comedy roles and caricatures acted in PTV's show Fifty-Fifty. He started his acting career in Moin Akhtar's show Saat Rang and then joined the cast of Fifty-Fifty in 1979. The show became popular across the country and so did Majid. He performed in more than 35 stage shows and in 4 Urdu films during his career spanning over two decades. He moved to the United States in 1985 and lived there for 23 years. He returned to Pakistan in 2008 and resumed his career by participating in Aamir Liaquat Hussain's shows for Geo TV and in the comedy show Khabarnaak. He was honoured with the Pride of Performance Award and the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his contributions to the field of arts and entertainment. He suffered from partial paralysis and other critical health issues since 2016 and faced severe financial problems. He died in Lahore on 10 January 2023 due to heart disease. He was survived by his four children and a large number of fans who admired his work and legacy.
