Michael Falzon

Michael Falzon was an Australian musical theatre star and actor who was known for his powerful voice and charismatic stage presence. He began his career as a singer and guitarist in various bands before making his musical theatre debut in 1997 in the Australian production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He rose to fame in 2003 when he was hand-picked by Queen to play the lead role of Galileo Figaro in the original Australian cast of We Will Rock You. He reprised the role in Japan, London and Singapore. He also starred in other musicals such as Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The War of the Worlds, Rock of Ages, Evita and Sweeney Todd. He was also a versatile actor who appeared in TV shows such as Blue Heelers, The Wright Way and House Husbands. He was also a producer and mentor who supported emerging artists and new works. He died of cancer on 23 June 2020 at the age of 48.
